The Australian State and National qualification for the WORLD HIPHOP INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP and the WORLD SUPREMACY BATTLEGROUNDS (WSB) will kickstart early in 2010.  The World Championships will be held in Las Vegas, USA from July 27 - August 1, while WSB will return to Sydney City, Australia in November 2010.

Different rules and regulations apply to the different championships, but each State will run a simultaneous competition for both international competitions. 

The World Championships in Las Vegas, USA is an annual hiphop dance event.  Rules can be downloaded from www.hiphopinternational.com.  Next year, Australia will get direct entry thru GROOVETV/HOOPDREAMZ.  Competition dates across the six Australian States will be announced on the first week of January 2010.

WSB Battlegrounds will look to expand its event over a period of two or three days to accommodate for the growing number of global participants.  Twenty new countries have applied to join WSB, which means greater competition.  Plans to split the three major group divisions, OPEN, Varsity and Junior divisions, are underway, and a leadership-dancers conference will be integrated in the extended event.  American choreographers will be invited to deliver talks and workshops in 2010. 

WSB Country Director Mark Concepcion believes that the new year will see Australia step up despite a lacklustre year in 2009.
