Congratulations to Japanese group OJOSANS for winning the GROOVE City Wildcard show. Sleek Quatro dance crew advances to the GROOVE Sydney finals on September 23.
Aug 11, 6:47pm - Japanese crew Ojosans showed some flair and creativity to sway the judges and win the GROOVE CITY WILDCARD show in PCYC Marrickville today. The four girl group wowed the crowd and stood out amongst the wildcard field. Finesse Sensei came second, followed by Osashimi Sisters and Sleek Quatro placed fourth. Thank you to our partners PCYC Marrickville, the Sydney Kings, Dancekool, Priority One Deejays, Big Vision Labs and to our judges from Equinox, Karen and Jerome Orben. This is the last GROOVE Sydney show before the big State Finals in September. Three Japanese groups and a host of city-based dance crews will be contending for the remaining wildcard spots. "We decided to create a mini-GROOVE because there are other crews in the City that weren't able to make it to the West, " said Managing Director Marco Selorio. "For the groups that qualified, this is a chance to see the rest of the field, the groups that will fill up the final wildcard positions in the September 23 Sydney Finals." In particular, three dance crews flew all the way from Japan to battle their way into the finals. Finesse Sensei, Osashimi Sisters and Ojo-sans will go head to head with the other dance crews. This will be the only opportunity to see the Japanese-based crews in action. With the September 23 finals looming, the rest of the finalists are now waiting to see who will come on board. B'Kinki (Blacktown) and Psalms (Hills) will be leading the way.
