May 30 Castle Hill, NSW - Shakespeare was flavour of the day as Brisbane City's best dance crews dominated the 2nd Annual HHI Australian HipHop Dance Championships at the Hills Centre overnight. It was an epic battle as Brisbane-based crew Macbeth swept the Open Division to be crowned the newest Australian Champs. The judging panel deliberated a long time before they made the decision to award Macbeth the win. They were followed by second place Zenith (Qld) and third ranked Bliss (ACT). The other categories were very competitive, with the Juliettes from Brisbane winning the coveted Varsity division title. Runners up Vardem (Qld) and third placed Bouyan (NSW) tried their hardest, but the Juliettes were oozing with great energy. They weren't going to be denied. Australia has also locked in its 3-on-3 BBOY crew, the Floor Pirates of Canberra City. Finally in the four-crew Junior division, two young teams went head to head with each other in the championship round. Little Justice (NSW) outdanced upstarts DC Crew Kids (ACT). Both dance groups qualify automatically to represent the country in the World HipHop Dance Championships in Las Vegas in late-July. To the other crews that participated in the preliminaries and finals, we thank you for your active participation.
