HOOPDREAMZ is proud to announce that Teddy Riley– the King of New Jack Swing and his R&B group, BLACKSTREET – will perform their first ever headline shows in Australia this December. Performing in Sydney and Melbourne, there will be strictly one show only in each city, ensuring that these are the hottest tickets in town. Support at both concerts will be New Zealand’s rising star Vince Harder, whose hit, “Everything”, stayed at No.1 on the New Zealand charts for three weeks.

Teddy Riley and BLACKSTREET will present their unique show, THE KINGS of NEW JACK SWING Tour as well as perform a Michael Jackson tribute, dedicated to the King of Pop. Teddy Riley is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, musician and Grammy Award winning producer. He is the founder of the New Jack Swing style of music, which incorporated the fusion of Hip- Hop and R&B in the late 80’s. His musical career began with R&B trio, Guy in the 80’s and then onto BLACKSTREET in the 90’s. In 1991, he co-produced Michael Jackson’s Dangerous album, which went on to sell 26 million copies. His production work produced smash hits ‘Remember the Time’, ‘Jam’ and ‘In the Closet’. He continued to produce hits for other artists including Bobby Brown (# 1 “My Prerogative”), Wreckx-n-Effect (#2 “Rumpshaker” and “My Cutie”) and Keith Sweat (“Why Me Baby” and “Keep It Comin”). His protégés include Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of The Neptunes.

BLACKSTREET is the legendary R&B group founded by lead singer Chauncey “Black” Hannibal and Teddy “Street” Riley in 1992. Original members Dave Hollister and J-Stylz will join them for the tour. They’ve released several major hits, “Don’t Leave Me”, “U Blow My Mind”, “Make You Wet”, No.1 single “No Diggity” (with Dr Dre), “Booti Call”, “Girlfriend/Boyfriend” (with Janet Jackson), “Take Me There” (Rugrats Movie with Mya), and “Deep”. In 2006, Teddy Riley and BLACKSTREET reunited as part of the New Jack Reunion Tour. The group will release a new album to coincide with their first-ever Australian tour.
